Guyra is well known for its Lamb & Potato Festival held over 10 days in mid to late January each year.
Travellers find the stop in Guyra on their holidays or on their way to the Country Music Festival in Tamworth a chance to relax on a long trip, pick up a bargain from one of the many market stalls, and be entertained while trying one of Guyra's famous lamb pies.
There is fun for all the family and a chance to dine al fresco under the shady trees along the New England Highway.
Many people from within the region also take the opportunity to come to Guyra for the festival and stroll down Bradley Street (the main shopping street) for some fine food and fine shopping.
Across the road at the Visitor Information Centre you will find "Guyra on Display" with lots of information about the town and district.
Antique Machinery Rally:
The Guyra & District Historical Society Machinery Group holds an antique machinery rally each year in conjunction with the Lamb & Potato Festival.
This is held on the weekend coinciding with Australia Day and is always very well represented by enthusiasts, from near and far, transporting their favourite machines for display at the rally.
